Privacy Policy

Last revised:

This Privacy Policy explains how Add Chad ("we," "us," and "our") handles information when you visit addchad.com, interact with Chad in a messaging conversation, or use our related features (the "Services"). The Services are intended only for adults age 18 or older in the United States.

1. Information we collect

Conversation content and activity. We receive and store messages, photos and other attachments made available to Chad, links, reactions, timestamps, group names, membership changes, and delivery information. We also store Chad’s responses, generated images, saved memories, reminders, scheduled tasks, and records of the tools and services he uses.

Member and contact information. This may include your name, nickname, phone number or messaging handle, and names and photos shared through contact cards. A participant may add Chad or share information about you even if you did not personally add him. Information can come from you, other participants, messaging services, and public sources used to answer a request.

Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include, such as feedback or a deletion request.

Website and technical information. Our hosting and service infrastructure may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, request times, errors, and security or performance logs. Chad does not have access to messages from before he was first added unless someone subsequently shares that content with him.

2. How we use information

We use information to receive and respond to messages, understand conversation context, remember relevant group details, research questions, create images, and perform requested or scheduled tasks. We also use it to provide support, troubleshoot problems, evaluate and improve the Services, maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Chad uses third-party AI and other service providers to perform these functions. Relevant conversation content, prompts, images, memory records, and search queries may be sent to those providers. Chad does not currently connect to your Gmail, calendar, cloud documents, or other personal accounts, or make purchases or payments on your behalf.

3. AI training and human review

We use information collected through the Services, including conversation content and shared media, to evaluate, fine-tune, train, and improve AI models. This includes our own models and work with third-party model providers, where permitted by applicable law and provider agreements. Different providers may process information under different terms; this does not mean that every provider trains on every request.

We do not offer an optional opt-out from model training. You can stop future participation by removing Chad from the conversation and can request deletion of stored information by emailing us. These choices do not limit any rights you have under applicable law. Deleting stored content is separate from removing its influence on models that have already been trained.

The people operating Add Chad and authorized team members may review conversations, images, and related records for support, troubleshooting, safety, and product or model improvement. Group separation does not mean information is inaccessible to authorized operators or the providers processing it.

4. How information is shared

Service providers. We disclose information to providers supporting messaging, hosting, database and media storage, memory and retrieval, AI models, web research, security, and other operations needed to provide the Services. Those services may process or store information on our behalf. Processing locations and retention depend on the provider and the service used.

Conversation participants and requested outputs. Replies, images, and other content Chad sends to a group are visible to its participants. A person’s membership in multiple groups does not give either group access to the other group’s conversation history, memories, or private photos through Chad. Participants can still copy, screenshot, or forward content themselves.

Legal and business purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect people or the Services, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal claims. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or in connection with a transfer of the Services, subject to applicable protections and legal requirements.

We do not currently sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or provide identifiable chat data to business partners for their independent use. If these practices change, we will update this policy and provide the notices and choices, and obtain any consent, required by law before applying the change. An update alone does not authorize uses of previously collected information that require additional permission.

5. Public posts and outside links

Blog posts and other shareable web pages Chad publishes can be read by anyone with the link without signing in. Links can be forwarded, and readers may save copies. A post link does not provide access to the group’s private chat archive or private assets. Contact us if a published post needs to be removed; taking it down cannot recall copies made by other people or services.

Chad may also share links to websites we do not operate. Those websites have their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern information you provide directly to them.

6. Storage and retention

We retain information in our systems until you request deletion, unless it is deleted sooner as part of operating the Services. Our systems include storage hosted for us by service providers. Removing Chad from a group does not automatically erase its previously stored messages, media, memories, or activity records.

We have enabled an ephemeral messaging setting with a 24-hour message-content window at our messaging provider. This limits how long message content remains available through that service; it is not a guarantee that every copy of every item is deleted exactly 24 hours after it was sent. Attachments, message metadata, delivery records, and operational copies can have different retention schedules. The setting does not delete the information Add Chad has already stored or copies on participants’ devices.

After a verified deletion request, we delete the requested personal information from systems under our control, subject to applicable legal requirements and necessary legal or security records. Backup and provider-held copies may follow separate deletion schedules. We do not promise that all third parties retain no information or that deletion from our systems removes copies outside our control.

7. Your choices and privacy requests

You can remove Chad from your group using your messaging app’s participant controls. If you cannot remove him yourself, ask someone in the group who can. Removal and deletion are separate actions.

Email support@addchad.com to request deletion, ask us to forget information, request access to or correction of your information, or raise another privacy concern. Include enough information to identify the relevant conversation or record, but do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive documents. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the request to protect other participants’ information.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or limit certain uses. We will handle requests and any applicable appeals according to those laws. Our statement that no optional training opt-out is offered does not waive rights that the law gives you.

8. Cookies and website tracking

We use necessary cookies for authenticated administrative access. We do not currently use advertising pixels or session-replay tracking on the public website. Hosting and security services may process technical request information to operate and protect the website. You can manage cookies through your browser; blocking them may affect authenticated features.

We do not currently change our practices in response to browser Do Not Track signals. We honor legally required privacy preference signals where applicable to our data practices.

9. Security

We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect information, including restricted administrative access and group-scoped access to conversation data. No service can guarantee complete security. Avoid sharing passwords, payment credentials, or other highly sensitive information with Chad. AI-generated content can contain errors or unintended disclosures; review content before sharing it more broadly.

10. Adults in the United States only

The Services are intended only for people age 18 or older in the United States. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to Chad, contact support@addchad.com so we can investigate and address it, including deletion where appropriate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services and our practices change. We will revise the date at the top and provide additional notice of material changes as appropriate, including any notice or consent required by law. Changes will not override legal rights or permissions required for new uses of information already collected.
